This was my final student project in grad school. It's a webGL game. I led the team of eleven that built the desktop client (top two screens). The entire game is written in JS and you can play it in Chrome without any plugins or additional software.

Cleaning up some UVs
Unequivocally my UVs were the worst part of that test. I even got called out on it in the interview. Anyway, I really liked the piece so I went back and tweaked the UVs to give the roof tiles way more texture space. Here's the texture now at 512.
and on the model at 256.

Art Test!
Got an art test this week. I had 48 hours to make a high fantasy building in the style of League of Legends using 700-800 triangles and just one 256 RGBA hand painted texture. Below is the result. It totally got me an interview :)
And the final texture:

Sci-Fi Crate
Just something I cooked up in my spare time this past week.
There's some loss of silhouette detail because the model is so low poly (just 44 triangles), but I think it turned out pretty well.

Trying out xNormal
This week I was on a mission to try out and learn xNormal. I spent a while figuring out how to best bake my mesh data, but once that was done I moved onto texturing. The texture is bad, but I was really focusing on playing with xnormal. The design comes from Star Wars: The Old Republic and is copyright Lucasfilm.

Lunch Breaks in all its Glory
Now that it's nearly two years since the film was finished I thought I'd post my undergraduate thesis in its entirety. My role on the film was to oversee modeling, lighting, and rendering pipelines. I modeled all four characters and designed the lighting set ups. Please to enjoy!

Timberwolf WIP
Here's why I went looking at those old models. This one's gotta be textured and animated though. 3 hours. 2930 triangles.
Throwback 2
Here's another from way back. This was made in May of 2007, still prior to any formal training. I had luckily learned how to extrude at this point so putting in details got easier.

Throwback!
This is one of the very first models I ever made. I didn't even know how to extrude when I made this. The whole thing is constructed with carefully placed primitives. I was probably 17 when I made this.

Collectible
This past winter some ETC students made a short film. I modeled the old woman. Check it out!
My working resolution was 1/4 of what you see here. Clearly, I redid the hair since the film was made.

Ethereal Helmets
Now we have some helmets for the Ethereal faction. You can see all of these in action by playing the Ethereal Beta. You can spot some export errors on these, which I will hopefully have time to fix.

Rebel Helmets
New helmets for the rebels. Adds a bit more variety to your armor selection and it makes the player's head look proportional :P

Shield and Dagger
I must have gotten through about 6 or 7 weapons this week. More images will definitely follow these. The Pavise:

Ethereal Weapons and Armor
Tons of new work from Project Ethereal. There's more than this but I can't think of it at the moment.
